The biggest source of my online income continues to be from participating in and promoting Affiliate programs. They provide a steady flow of cheques to my mail box. Some of them are for just a few dollars, and some of them are for several hundred dollars. They are all because of the methods mentioned in this article.
I truly enjoy the simplicity of representing a ready made marketing concept. All the hard work has been done in advance by the company. My job is simply to market the product or service. 
Please note that while this article is not intended to offend anyone, it is going to be very direct and to the point. The candy coating has been removed.
It always amazes me when I look at the stats of People who join Affiliate Programs. Over 90% of them do absolutely nothing. They don't even so much as click onto their own affiliate page. Some of this may be due to a lack of knowledge or understanding of the process. People have the impression that simply signing up will make them a success. But, the biggest reason, in my opinion, is that they just lose interest. They only have as much interest as it takes to get signed up and hope that the company or their upline will make them rich. The ole, "well I'll give it a try" routine.
Basically, what it boils down to is that the new affiliate marketer must believe in the program AND IN THEMSELVES enough to take some serious action. Now if you are the type of person who is very intent on building a big affiliate income, keep reading. If you are only casually interested in Affiliate success, this article is not for you.
Promote Products and Services that YOU Believe In
First of all you must find a program that gets you excited. Yes, even with the anonymity that the Internet offers, your enthusiasm will be reflected in your words. Remember this, 'most people will make their purchase because of a testimonial or personal recommendation. Simply pasting pre written company materials is not going to yield the number of sign ups and sales that you want. You are going to have to communicate directly to many of your prospects. In order to do this effectively, you must exude enthusiasm and confidence.
Use Personal Endorsements
Personal endorsements and testimonials are going to provide far more credibility than banner ads and pretty pictures ever will. You must have them. Write your own. Ask your customers for feedback. Ask your upline for their testimonial. Ask your downline. Get as many legitimate words of praise for the program that you are promoting as possible.
Have you ever seen the ads that read; "I lost xx pounds - ask me how". They are everywhere; in newspapers, on buttons that people wear, laundromat bulletin boards, bumper stickers, etc.. As distasteful as they may be, they are a testament to the power of personal testimonials. 
Utilize the Full Value of Ezines
The most effective way to reach your prospects is through ezines. I won't go into all the reasons why you should have your own, there are already many fine articles on that subject. Let's just say that if you don't publish your own, then you will have to pay someone else, who does, to present your marketing message. Even if you have your own ezine it is very wise to buy or barter advertising space in other Internet newsletters.
There are several ways present your message in ezines. The most common, but least effective, is through the use of classified ads. They do work, and are cheap to buy, but you will see far better results with a higher profile ad. Placing your message at or near the top of the publication gives it a much better chance of being seen. These "Sponsor Ads" or "Featured Ads" not only stand out from the rest of the ads, but they carry more credibility too. Also, many publishers will allow you to include more copy in the higher paying ads.
In your own ezine you can take your liberties and write full articles that discuss the merits of your affiliate program. This can be a very effective method, but you need to remember to write it with the readers interests in mind. Nothing turns people off faster than blatant self serving commercials. Always use the WIIFM principle. The reader needs to know, "What's In It For Me".
Use Your Stats
One last method that helps me to focus my promotions effectively is simply to study the site logs and stats pages. Many Affiliate programs will provide you with a stats page. Most of them are only about hits, sign ups and income. This is good information to know, but it doesn't let you know which ads are working the best. That's why I like to create redirect pages on my site. 
Here's how it works. You create an ad for XYZ affiliate and place it in an ezine (or on a web page). Instead of putting in a link to your affiliate page address, you would create a page on your site that automatically sends the visitor to the affiliate page. Each ad that you use would lead to a separate redirect page. There are two main benefits to this. 1) The link address is going to look more professional and probably shorter. eg: 2)You will be able to see in your server logs which ads are drawing the most hits. Be Wise
One caveat. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of Affiliate programs floating around on the Internet for all kinds of products and services. Some of them are dogs. They just won't work, regardless of how well you promote them. Be wise in selecting the one(s) that you are going to invest your time and money into. 
When you find a good one, practice the above methods, along with your own creativity and enthusiasm, and you too will experience the joy of opening envelopes with large cheques in them. I look forward to reading YOUR success story.

In this report we are going to talk about one of the greatest marketing tools online.... Singnature Files (or Resources Boxes). Right away I know your reaction; you're saying "I already know about SIG files and how to use them; I'm using them everyday."
It's funny how many other marketers online feel the same way and jump to conclusions when you mention the topic of SIG files. They feel it's nothing major like publishing your ezine or copywriting your ads or sales letters.
This reminds me of the little termite. When you view it with the eye, it seems very harmless or that it can't do very much damage. But let a bunch of them get into the foundation of your home. You'll have major problems! The foundation of your home will be ruined, and this can cause the value of your home to depreciate.
The same applies when using SIG files in your online marketing arsenal. You shouldn't over look them or take them lightly. The same attention you give to writing ad copies and sales letters; should be the same energies used for your SIG files. Because writing a bad SIG file can ruin the responses to your ads, sales letters or any other marketing tools you may use.
What is a SIG file or a resource box?
If you look at the end of almost any email you've received you'll see a SIG file.

The sender uses their SIG file to give you a brief description of who they are and what products or services they have to offer. You can also find SIG files being used on messages boards, opt-in mailing list, discussion groups, guest books and everywhere else on the web.
If your SIG file is used to give the reader information about your website, products or services; then you can consider it sort of like an ad, right?
And as I always ask, "What's the purpose of any type of advertisement?"
It's only purpose is to inform? It's to entertain or show off? It's to let everyone know you are the CEO of the XYZ company, right?
Wrong! The only purpose for any type of advertisement is to make the sell! That's it!
If you're in business not to make money, then you're in the wrong business. The only purpose for your SIG file is to lure the reader to your site, so that they will make a purchase.
Now let's take another look at the SIG file.

Will this SIG file motivate you to visit the xyz site?
It doesn't do anything for me. I wouldn't visit the site. But now let's take a look at how you should wirte your SIG files.
You are aware or have heard of the A.I.D.A. formula, right?
This formula states that any ad you write should Attract its reader attention. It should create and Interest and the Desire to Act upon your offer immediately.
Commit this simple formula to memory. You can use it when writing your ads, sales letters, SIG files or any other type of advertisment. By implementing this formula into your SIG files your responses will increase dramatically.
But before you can effectively use the A.I.D.A. formula, your ads or SIG files must answer the most important question to its reader, "What's in it for ME? Why should I visit your site? What benefits will I receive from visiting your site? etc..." This means your SIG file must be packed with "client centered" benefits.
The SIG file above won't be effective because it fails to answer any of these questions. If you're using similar SIG files as the one above; your SIG files will also fail. Now let's try to rewrite the SIG file. This time we are going to use the A.I.D.A. formula and pack it with "client centered" benefits.

I know what your first reaction was when you saw this new SIG file. "But he didn't let them know what position he holds at the company, or his title. He didn't even give them the name of his company. What's the use?"
You're absolutely right. I excluded that information. Not that it wasn't important, but it has no relevance in your SIG file.
It is said that most of your ads will only have 30 seconds to capture the attention and interest of its reader. If you fail to catch their attention in this time frame, you might as well hang it up.
So it's essential that you eliminate useless words and only use effective words that show "client centered" benefits. Your SIG file should also be very brief, not wordy. Only contain 5 or at the most 6 lines of text. We will discuss the reasons for this later....
But for now let's look at our new SIG file. Does it contain "client centered" benefits? Does it answer the A.I.D.A. formula? Does it answer the "What's in it for ME?" questions?
Does this SIG file catch your Attention? Yes, if you're a webmaster, who wants more visitors to your site; it does.
Does it create an Intrest? "MORE traffic". The webmaster knows that the more visitors you can get to your sites the more sales you'll make. Yes, this ad does create an Interest.
Does it create a Desire to act on this offer immediately? Yes, it does create a sense of 'urgency'. If you want more hits to your website you must "Click Here NOW!" or "Send for FREE report NOW!"
Does this SIG file call the reader to Action? Yes, it tells the read exactly what to do next to take advantage of this offer. "Click Here NOW!" or "Send for FREE Report NOW!"
"What's in it for ME?" Free reports, free promotional tools, more traffic and more sales.
1. Your SIG file should be concise. No more that 5 or 6 lines. Don't write a SIG file with a long list of all the programs you're involved in. This is a turn off.
It's just like visiting a site with only a long list of links to all the webmaster's associate programs. This is ineffective and can also confuse the reader; because they wont be able to determine which link to click.
Provide a link to one of your main pages where they'll be able to find your other links. Eliminate useless and irrelevant words. Remember to use and test several SIG files. You can use a different one for each advertising medium.
2. Remember to use the A.I.D.A. formula. Your SIG file should Attract and grab the reader's Attention. Create an Interest and a Desire to act on your offer now (sense of 'urgency'. Tell the reader specifically what Actions to take next, if they want to take advantage of your offer. "Click here" or "Send for report".
3. In order for you to successfully use the A.I.D.A. formula you must pack your SIG file with "client centered" benefits. Answer the "What's in it for ME?" questions.
